The Jazz Collective formed in 1998.
It was Lester Bennett: drums, Walter Shaw: double bass
Chris Sugden: piano, Paul Leader: guitar
Chris Goodsell: bass, Tim Collinson: saxophones
We ran two clubs in our time together.
The first was at The Hop Poles in Enfield, 'Jazz on the Hop'.
This lasted about a year or so.
We then played weekly at The Nineteenth Hole, Oakwood.
On many occasions inviting a top British jazz player to front the band.
Some of the guys we had the pleasure of playing with were,
Jim Mullen, Alan Skidmore, Mornington Lockett, John Etheridge,
Martin Speake and Andy Shepperd.
